Life-Style Change: Habits or Unhelpful Behaviours

 

Many of us have habits or unhelpful behaviours that we know have a detrimental effect on our health – sometimes our physical health, sometimes our mental health. However, giving up something that we like, even when we know we ‘should’ is not easy.

We have experience in offering Health Coaching, a coaching approach with a specific focus on finding ways to make the changes that you want to make, in a way that fits with you and your life.

We can spend time with you helping to fix realistic and achievable goals.

We then help you to find the options and opportunities that you have within your life to begin to move towards these goals.

We will then support you in making clear, meaningful and realistic plans to reach these goals, giving you as much support as you need along the way.

The types of things that people often want help in changing include:

  • Smoking less / giving up
  • Drinking less
  • Making dietary changes
  • Weight loss
  • Increased fitness

 

We can also help you manage health related behaviours that you may need help with:

  • Pain management
  • Diet management, e.g. with diabetes

 

This is not a complete list – this approach can be used for whatever you would like to address.

 

It is not necessary for you to talk about your past in order to make these changes. This is different from counselling or therapy. It is a solution-focused and empowering approach, designed to put you in charge of how you would like your life to be.
